Tsuwano and the Horseback Archery Festival

If ever you want to escape to a small little town with spunk and personality, it would be Tsuwano. We had heard about a really cool festival called the Horseback Archery Festival. It is exactly like it sounds. Riders try to hide small pieces of wood while on a galloping horse. They did much better than I could ever dream.

Making sweets! If I remember correctly, they are filled with sweet bean paste. Think Fig Newton.

Surprise! Here is my gummy Emmett!

The temple that was at the top of the hill.

The streets were lined with little canals full of Koi fish!

Stairway of Torii.

One of the riders who hit his board!
